  • The DTVP-3 has five subtests: Eye-Hand Coordination, Copying, Figure-Ground, Visual Closure, Form constancy. The subtests form three composites: Motor-Reduced Visual Perception, Visual-Motor Integration, and General Visual Perception.
  • Eye-Hand Coordination - Children must draw precise straight or curved lines in accordance with visual boundaries.
  • Copying - Children must look at a sample figure and then draw it on a piece of paper. Figures become more and more complex.
  • Figure-Ground - On a page with a confusing background, the children are shown figures and asked to find as many as they can within the confusing page.
  • Visual Closure - A figure is shown to the children, and they are asked to pick the exact figure from a group of figures that have been incompletely drawn.
  • Form Constancy - With a stimulus figure, the children are asked to find the same figure within a series of figures. The targeted figure may be hidden in a distracting background, have a different position, size, or shade.
